Do not be alarmed! Protesters are paid for their efforts in Haiti

e2There has hardly EVER been a smooth transition of Presidencies in ALL of Haiti’s history since 1804. No reason, and no surprise, not to expect tumult now…It’s…the legacy, the heritage?..it’s what Haitians in the Republik of Port au Prince do, it’s how Republik of Port au Prince does « regime change, » – and mostly, it rarely has affected the rest of Haiti outside the Republik of Port au Prince, the man in the corn field, the woman in the bean field…

The balance of power has never balanced – and oddly, the head of state most typically portrayed in the U.S. as a brutal dictator (Papa Doc), is view as a fantastic president by the older generation of pep andeyo ! « Because of Papa Doc, » they say, and the Tonton Macoutes, « we had security — people were too afraid to do bad things. » Vwala!
